Transfer Transition Program Overview

Part of the Center for the First-Year Experience, the Transfer Transition Program was created in 2010 to support and improve the experience of transfer students at UW–Madison. We want every transfer student to have access to the resources they need for personal and academic success, to feel a sense of belonging, and to create their own unique Wisconsin Experience. We work towards this goal by shaping a campus environment that encourages and supports positive academic and social engagement. Whether you are preparing to transfer or have already enrolled at UW–Madison, the Transfer Transition Program can assist you in making the transition to becoming a UW student.

Hours: 10-12 hours/week.
Pay: $12.00/hour

Full Position Description


Open now, closes January 26th, 2020 at 11:55 pm.

Begin February 10th – end February 21st, 2020.

Appointment Length
On boarding: various Saturdays in spring 2020 & May 11-15, 2020. Official start date August 19th, 2020 until May 2021.

Position Summary

Transfer Student Coordinators work together to maintain the Transfer Engagement Center, facilitate the BadgerCETE Leadership Program,  and plan TTP events. Additional esponsibilities & duties may include the following: assist in marketing tasks such social media, graphic design, and writing content for weekly newsletter, meet one-on-one with new transfer students during the semester, represent the Transfer Transition Program at recruiting events and on panels, work office hours in the Transfer Engagement Center, support Wisconsin Welcome & National Transfer Student Week events, and assist the Transfer Transition Program as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Full-time undergraduate status through May of 2021.
  • Transfer student status preferred.
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA at of the start of the fall term. If your GPA is below 2.5, please include a statement of explanation.
  • Second jobs, or other major commitments must be disclosed and approved by the supervisor prior to accepting the employment offer.
